More than 9000 tonnes of moulded Type I pharmaceutical glass containers and 4000 tonnes of tubular vials and ampoules (corresponding to more than 700 million pieces) are produced annually at the Vemula (India) glassworks of SGD Pharma. Sardar Akshay Singh, Managing Director of SGD Pharma India, spoke to Glass Worldwide (preferred international AIGMF journal) about the fully integrated facility’s extensive capabilities, prospects and opportunities.
Frederic joined SGD Pharma in 1999. He held various positions in the sales team of North America (New York), Europe (Paris), Asia (Guangzhou) and India (Hyderabad-Vemula).
In 2013, he was part of the team managing the integration of Cogent Glass (now SGD Pharma India) as General Manager of the entity. Once the commercial and technical ramp-ups of SGD Pharma India were on the right track and with a strong team in place led by Akshay Singh, he returned to SGD Asia Pacific as General Manager.
Carole Grassi Mircich has 15 years’ extensive experience in the packaging industry, firstly in the Beauty & Personal Care market and thereafter in the Pharmaceutical market. Carole joined SGD Pharma in 2017, initially as Marketing & Communication Director, then as a Chief Innovation & Development Officer and most recently in the role of Chief Commercial Marketing & Innovation Officer. Carole has introduced many strategic, market-driven and business development initiatives to increase the value of SGD Pharma for its customers, employees and shareholders.
Pierre-Michel joined the company in 2016 as the Director of the Human Resources and internal communication.
